Dr Mary Dare

Dr Mary Dare is a warm, thorough and highly experienced GP who has worked for over 20 years in women’s, children’s and reproductive health. She completed her medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2004 and trained at leading hospitals in Adelaide and Melbourne before entering General Practice in 2009. She has since worked predominantly in Australian general practice, with two years in the United States undertaking additional study.

Mary has a strong focus on women’s and reproductive health and provides dedicated menopause and perimenopause consultations through the Richmond Medical Menopause and Midlife Clinic. She has done further training in both hormonal and non-hormonal menopause management and is a member of the Australian Menopause Society, the International Menopause Society and Healthy Hormones.

She holds a Master of Public Health, a Diploma of Child Health and postgraduate qualifications in sexual and reproductive health. Mary provides shared antenatal care through the Royal Women’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women and has previously worked as a GP Consultant with the GP Liaison Unit and Shared Care Office at the Royal Women’s Hospital. She has a particular interest in optimising health before conception and during the first trimester, supporting women with evidence-based guidance during this important stage of pregnancy.

She offers a neurodevelopmental care approach to infant sleep, feeding and unsettled behaviour, helpful for families in the early stages of parenthood.

Mary’s practice is grounded in preventative, evidence-based medicine, with a focus on supporting women through important reproductive, fertility and midlife transitions. She values comprehensive consultations and encourages patients to book longer appointments when discussing complex or multi-layered concerns.

Outside of work, Mary enjoys time with family and friends, staying active and travelling.
