Dr Jon Gillies


Jon is a GP who is happy to help tailor individual care for a broad range of medical and mental health issues. He obtained fellowship as a GP in 2018, has a masters in public health and tropical medicine, and holds diplomas in women’s health and also children’s health. He is keen to assist in all aspects of family medicine. He is competent in contraceptive advice, early pregnancy care, Implanon insertion, iron infusions and skin procedures.
Jon enjoys helping with travel health and vaccinations, having travelled broadly himself and having an extensive knowledge of local and overseas health issues. He is the doctor with Richmond VFL men’s football team and has an interest and skills base in a wide range of sports, and would be pleased to assist with all injury prevention and management. 
Outside of his work at Richmond Medical, he works in the fields of youth drug and alcohol medicine, and Aboriginal health. Beyond the scope of being a GP, Jon is a trying cyclist, keen on all things fishing and hiking, a mindfulness enthusiast, a husband, and the owner of a poorly behaved but much loved dog.
